Three of my favorite things.

1. Love
2. A pretty girl in a great dress
3. Portland, Oregon

Congratulations, Emily! [pop print hammered silk charmeuse wedding dress]

What goes around.

This time of year I catch my breath, reflect, rest...but not for long! We are busily collecting photos of English Dept. brides for a memory book of sorts, and I happened to spot one of my little hairpieces in Emily's tresses--she borrowed it from a friend who found it at our shop. I love the idea of these handmade creations journeying through the universe--fly, little flower!

The photos of Emily's wedding, by the way, are incredible--you can see more here.

P.S. If you wore a dress from The English Dept. and would like to share your photos with us, we'd love to see them! Just email us at info@theenglishdept.com.

Vampire Chic for Weddings and Parties

This red and black wedding is perfect for a Gothic celebration and we love the spanish style cake.
The table names are in elaborate ornate blackframes with the names Dracula in this image, I can imagine, with all the vampire hype at the moment, of all the other table name possibilities you could come up with! Twilight springs to mind of course!
A vampire themed night would be amazing, getting away from the usual pumpkins with the orange and black theme, this theme would be far more stylish for a Halloween soiree. Image found on www.swankytablesblog.com

Sterling Silver Oval Cubic Zirconia Cocktail Ring

This is faux jewelry at its finest. While no one is ever going to believe this is the "real thing," the workmanship is excellent. That is, the setting of the small cubics around the big stone (which is fabulously brilliant) is meticulously, and impeccably done. The small stones have great shine as well. The ring is marked 925 and China. Detail
