Lovely comes west!

I'm thrilled to announce that Lovely bridal boutique, my favorite shop in New York, is opening a Los Angeles location! They'll carry my new collection, including my Tea/Blush gown (center frame). Opening day will be February 14th. Congratulations, ladies!

This week is a whirlwind, as we race around like mad pixies sprinkling the final fairy dust on all our new pretty things for this Sunday's fashion show. Can't wait to show you what we've been up to! In addition to dozens of new gowns, there will be beautiful bells and whistles from some of the best wedding artisans out there--Lille Trousseau, Ink & Peat, Twigs & Honey ... I'm excited to announce The English Dept. 2012 Bridal Fashion Show! We can't wait to show you all our lovely new dresses from Ivy & Aster, Nicole Miller, Jenny Yoo, yours truly and others. I just got back from a heavenly week in New York, bookended by my fall trunk show at Lovely (thanks, ladies!) and 2012 Bridal Market (lots of gorgeous new dresses coming for Spring). I walked and walked--sourcing, shopping, researching and just taking it all in. Although I'm a West Coast girl at heart, I'm always gobsmacked by the sights, spirits, tastes and textures of this amazing city.

 Thanks to everyone who came out on Sunday for Finishing School, our annual do-it-yourself event for making bridal hair accessories and dress embellishments.

My project: a metallic lace shrug with hundreds of lace "petals" hand-stitched around the neckline. I finally finished it--that's why we call it Finishing School.

 Truly impressed by the artistry on display. Nice work, class of 2011!

Create one-of-a-kind accents to complete your wedding ensemble: headbands, flower combs, fascinators, sashes, silk flower corsages and gown embellishments. We will supply materials, assistance and inspiration for this hands-on workshop. The event is $25 to attend. Your admission fee is good for credit toward materials for whatever you create! Thanks also to Cassandra, Lanie, and the smashing Lovely crew for making me feel so welcome. 

It's great fun for me to see dresses from my collection modeled by honest-to-goodness brides (left: "Tempest," right: "Honeychurch")...

...and I always like to bring a few new things (left: "Tea/Blush" gown, right: "Lizzie Swift" gown). So nice to see my work come to life! Now back to the studio...

San Francisco trunk show!

I've collaborated with Duchess on many a wedding (including this one), and I'm thrilled to announce we are taking our his + hers wedding apparel show on the road. The smashing sisters of Hello! Lucky will graciously host us for a San Francisco weekend event featuring my dresses for the ladies, Duchess suits for the gentlemen (or ladies, as the case may be), and copious amounts of prosecco for all.
